Anantha P. Chandrakasan is dean of the MIT School of Engineering and the Vannevar Bush Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He chairs the MIT Climate Sustainability Consortium and the MIT AI Hardware Program and co-chairs the MIT–IBM Watson AI Lab, MIT-Takeda Program, and MIT and Accenture Convergence Initiative for Industry and Technology. He is also a governing board member of the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology. Chandrakasan was previously a board member of The Engine, the head of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT, and the director of the Microsystems Technology Laboratories. A fellow of the IEEE, in 2015 he was elected to the National Academy of Engineering, in 2019 to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and in 2020 to the Association for Computing Machinery. He earned a BS, an MS, and a PhD in electrical engineering and computer sciences from the University of California, Berkeley. He serves on the boards of Analog Devices, Inc. and the Perkins School for the Blind.
