David Perreault

Joseph F. and Nancy P. Keithley Professor in Electrical Engineering
MIT School of Engineering

David Perreault is a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT.

David’s research interests include design, manufacturing, and control techniques for power electronic systems and components, and their use in a wide range of applications including renewable energy, transportation, and consumer and industrial systems. In addition to his work at MIT, he consults in industry, and co-founded Eta Devices, inc. (acquired by Nokia in 2016) and Eta Wireless, inc., to address fundamental power challenges in the mobile communications industry. David is also a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a member of the National Academy of Engineering.

The efficient generation, processing and use of electrical energy has been a focus of David’s research because it can enable us to meet humanity’s needs while preserving the environment.  He is excited about the opportunity for the MCSC to bring together industrial leaders, researchers and the community in a way that opens up new opportunities to achieve this goal.
