The MCSC is partnering with the new MIT Morningside Academy for Design (MAD) by funding three Design Fellows who are working on projects with a sustainability focus. MAD is a major interdisciplinary center housed in the MIT School of Architecture and Planning (SA+P) that  aims to empower individual and collective problem-solving capacity around the globe by educating future generations in design, fostering design innovation, and encouraging entrepreneurship.

MCSC staff and fellows recently welcomed MAD’s founding director John Ochsendorf; Maria Yang, associate dean of the MIT School of Engineering and associate director for MAD; along with several of the inaugural class of Design Fellows to the MCSC office to celebrate this new initiative and discuss ways to elevate design with climate and sustainability in mind.
